What is a Learning Path?

Learning Paths are essentially a lesson plan for users that you design Create a customized Learning Path to guide your learners through a curated set of content.

Why would I use this feature?

Instead of assigning tons of courses to multiple users manually, you can assign one learning path to a preferred group, or set of individual users.

It’s also a way to organize courses in sequential order to increase course completion. Once your Learning Path is set up, you can enable custom communications as a drip campaign to further bolster engagement with the linked content.

How Do I make a Learning Path?

Once the Learning Paths feature is enabled by Support, you'll see the following addition to your Content tab. To begin, click the green icon at the right, + Create Learning Path.

Next, follow the prompts to provide your Learning Path a name, description, picture, and select the instructor(s) from the list of your school's admins and managers.

Let's get building! Now you'll need to select the content you'd like featured in the Learning Path. From the dropdown, select the courses you would like to be included in your Learning Path. The order in which the courses appear can be modified via drag and drop:

Important note: If you set the Optional toggle on, your learners will not see the progress (even though they completed the course). As the course is marked as optional, our Platform treats it as a non-mandatory Path that your learners may or may not take.

Once you've selected and organized your courses, you can customize the following criteria for your Learning Path:

Summary/General Information

You can update the learning path's title, description, and pictures here. They will be visible to all members with access to the path.


Build out your learning path's content here, using all your great resources. You can start by adding courses to your path on the right.


Here you can set up notifications for your learners. Using these notifications, we give you the ability to contact your learners whenever they are enrolled in this learning path or when they complete it. Additionally, you can schedule the notification to happen at a later time and customize the message.

Multiple notifications can be added for a Learning path, allowing you to provide learners with instructions or encouragement immediately after enrollment or once they complete the path.


Quickly and easily empower your learners to discover and self-enroll to this learning path. Here you can choose to display this learning path either to everyone or only to specific learners or groups.

How do I Enroll Users?

Note: Please follow the instructions related to the authentication method of your school.

For Existing Pre-Registration Learners/All Open Access/ Shared Account Authentication Methods:

Step 1

Starting in the Learning Paths tab within Content in the Navigation bar, select the path you wish to work with. Click the ... icon under Actions and select Share Learning Path.

Step 2

Copy the enrollment link and provide it to the users you would like to provide access to the learning path. Once the user has been authenticated and they click the enrollment link, they will be allowed to take the courses in the learning path.

For the Pre-Registration Authentication Method:

Step 1

Click the People tab from your navigation bar and click the green + Add icon

Step 2

Add the user's email address and select Learner as the role.

Step 3

Under Course Assignment, select your desired learning path from the drop-down menu.

Click Invite. An invitation email will be sent to the learner to activate their account, after which they will have access to the learning path.
