Over time, we all change (🐛➡️🦋)...including the assets we have within the Media Library. So let us take a look at how to replace an asset within a course leveraging the media library.

Step 1

In the top navigation bar, click Media Library.

Step 2

Search for the asset you want to replace. Click the three dots found under the Actions column and select Replace.

Step 3

Read the information about the effects of replacing a file. Select whether you want to:

  • Replace the file and build on top of existing analytics data
  • Start tracking data from scratch.

Step 4

Click Upload replacement & select the replacement file from your computer.

Step 5

As the file is uploading, the Upload replacement button will become muted in color. Once the file has successfully loaded, a mini file tile will pop up at the bottom of the page.

Step 6

Click Save in the top right corner.

Step 7

The Upload status screen appears. You do not need to stay on this page for the upload to process. Click Exit in the top right corner to return to the Media Library.

Step 8

The replaced asset will have a status of Replacing to indicate that the file replacement is still being processed.

Step 9

Once the replacement process is complete, Ready will display under the Status. Moving forward, all course activities containing the respective asset will be replaced with the new asset.
