What web browsers are supported by Northpass

In order to facilitate an interactive learning experience, Northpass utilizes modern javascript and browser technologies. The browsers supported by Northpass were specifically selected to allow users to engage interactively with the content.

 

3 Tiers of Support

Tier 1

Which browsers:

 

All major browsers released in the past year including:

  • Edge

  • Chrome >= 35

  • Firefox >= 30

  • Safari >= 7

  • iOS Safari >= 7.1

  • iOS Chrome >= 40

  • Android Chrome >= 40

  • Android Browser >= 4

What it means:

 

We actively support these browsers with automated testing, manual testing, and actively fix bugs related to usability in these browsers.

 

Tier 2

Which browsers:

 

Major browsers released prior to the past year and Firefox 15 including:

 

  • Chrome < 35

  • Firefox < 30 and >= 16

  • Safari < 7 and >= 6

  • iOS Safari < 7.1 and >= 6

  • iOS Chrome < 40

  • Android Chrome < 40

What it means:

 

While we do not actively support these browsers, the user may be able to successfully interact with the course materials. The user will see a message suggesting that they upgrade to a newer browser.

 

Tier 3

Which browsers:

 

Browsers no longer supported by their vendor:

  • Firefox < 16

  • Safari < 6

  • iOS Safari < 6

  • iOS Firefox < 3

  • Android Browser < 4

What it means:

 

This browser does not support interactive or modern javascript frameworks. The user will see a page letting them know that they will be unable to interact with the course content and must upgrade their browser in order to continue.
